This site is devoted to the people, the cars and to hydraulics before it all became too commercialized/mass produced. The word Square Dump symbolizes the early days. You see, the square dump was one of the early most dependable valves used in the early Lowriders. You don't see them around much these days, and if you knew what you were looking at, you'd know that it was original old school. Old school, this site is devoted to early old school days of the Lowriders, hydraulics, car shows, and to the people that made it happen. There was a time when you had to really work at getting your car lifted. There were no nationwide parts stores that sold you hydraulics. You had to take a long drive to get what you wanted. There were no shops to do cut outs, a lot of us even made our cups and donuts. The middle 70's is considered to be a time Lowriding was getting big. Aircraft hydraulics were being replaced with industrial hydraulics and shops began selling ready-made parts were starting to open. Then came Lowrider Magazine. In some ways it was another beginning, hopping contest were starting, shops with budgets were entering contests. New and improved parts were being made to work on industrial hydraulic parts. Then in the late 80s it appears a new generation was cropping up. Different attitudes of what a Lowrider was or could be or should be. New and improved hydraulics, worldwide attention, mega shows, coast-to-coast hydraulic shops. Things changed, now if you want to Lowride, you pull out your wallet, throw down some cash, pick your car up in a day or two and your riding and never need to get a bit of grease under your nails. Then we have cars easily standing and flipping over. Lowriders were never meant to be disposable. Where’s the love. We used to stand out as it took work to get there. Now anyone can do what we did, cheaper, faster and easier. Seems like something is missing or just gone away. You are welcome to add your input, pictures, wants ads, setups, stories, events, or just about anything related to Lowriders and the pioneers all before 1990. CONTACT: tjjjc2 @yahoo.com |
